Graduating Flatiron & Job searching
Flatiron’s UX bootcamp was challenging, but rewarding. Even though the course was considered part time, it definitely felt like a second full time job. However, it has given me the necessary skills needed to be successful as a UX Designer. Now that I have graduated, I’m starting my job search as a UX designer. During this first week of job searching I’m finding out what’s important to me in a company and what to look for in their postings, such as specifying wether it’s a UX or UI designer position, not “UX/UI,” so I can ensure I’m applying to a role that best fits what I specialized in while at Flatiron, which is UX. Though, it seems very few companies say UX/UI, most seem to be specific about whether they are looking for a UX or UI designer. Alongside that, I am also finding out what area I want to be in, which is the health & fitness industry, however, I have a strong background working with B2B Saas companies, so it may be that I start in a company where my background aligns with just to get my foot in the door. We’ll see where the universe takes me, stay tuned!
